Crue Cutting!

Here we go! Here we go! Here we go! Such a simple song, but it means so much, to so many people. As we embark on yet another Sky Blue campaign, we wonder if our search for the ‘holy grail’, a trophy (any trophy), will be successful this season, or will it be yet another disappointment. Let’s face it, United, who had been impressive in our three friendlies against Scottish opposition, let themselves down badly in their next three games, with defeats against Ballyclare and Bangor, while our 3-1 win against local Intermediate side, Raceview Rangers, was less then impressive. But as they say, ‘hope springs eternal’ and we fervently hope that these were just minor ‘blimps’ and not signs of anything more sinister. After manager Wright’s raid on his former club, bringing in Lee Patrick, Aaron Callaghan and Austin Friel, we will be looking for a vast improvement on last season. So there’s no better place to start than with tomorrow’s game at home to the newly promoted, Crusaders. Admittedly the ‘hatchet men’, will be no pushover, but if United are to be a team to be reckoned with this season, nothing less than a convincing win will suffice tomorrow. So no pressure on you from the start Tommy, it’s quite simple, the time for talking is over, it’s time to stand up and be counted. Let’s send those so called ‘Tigers’ home with their tails between their legs, in short, ‘let’s shag those townie love children’!
